Cultural note from the author
This story is based on the real-life experiences of my parents and their two rescued cats, Chii-chan and Koro-chan.
The photographs in this book were taken by my mother and show the special bond between the cats and their family. As you can see, Chii-chan and Koro-chan are very much loved and perhaps a little spoiled!
One of their favourite mischiefs is destroying shoji, the traditional Japanese paper sliding doors found in many Japanese homes. Perhaps only cats in Japan can enjoy such a unique pastime!
